About Nicole

Nicole Van Valen, M.S., L.M.F.T., SHRM – SCP, is a distinguished leader, advisor, board member, and public speaker with over two decades of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, and the entertainment industry. As a Senior Business Leader and Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician, she has excelled in enhancing leadership, fostering team resilience, and promoting belonging and inclusion.

As the President and Founder of Keane Insights, Van Valen has been at the forefront of driving growth and fostering vibrant cultures within social service and healthcare organizations throughout the last decade. Her leadership has led to significant organizational transformations, marked by improved team dynamics and strategic advancements. In addition to organizational leadership, she also offers personal development through spiritual healing and love energy techniques, enhancing the holistic well-being of individuals.

Van Valen’s background in dance, including being the former Assistant Director the the University of Miami and Miami HEAT dance teams as well as a Miami Dolphins Cheerleader and Miami HEAT Cheerleader and Dancer, inform her approach to building resilience in and out of the workplace. She inspires her audiences to focus on mental well-being, embrace change, and create inclusive environments where agility, determination, and joy are celebrated.

Her role on the Board of Directors for Experience Camps for Grieving Children, along with past positions such as Executive Board Member for Jack and Jill of America, Inc., underscores her commitment to helping others overcome challenges. While her volunteer work in South Africa with the Ekukhanyeni Relief Project, aiding children affected by infectious diseases, highlights her dedication to creating inclusive communities and supporting those in need.

As a licensed mental health therapist and natural connector, she contributes to national organizations and councils like the National Speakers Association. Her resilience-building platform has influenced audiences around the world with thought leadership about navigating setbacks, pushing through adversity, and enhancing wellbeing.

Van Valen’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Miami. She holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), where she also became a licensed behavioral health clinician, enhancing her expertise in therapeutic practices. Additionally, her professional depth is further highlighted by her doctoral level studies on Education in Organizational Leadership from NSU, with a specialization in Human Resources. This is complemented by her credentials as a Senior Certified Professional from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and a specialty in Inclusive Workplace Culture from SHRM, effectively integrating her knowledge of psychology with advanced organizational dynamics and inclusive leadership principles.

Originally from the Bahamas and now residing in South Florida, Van Valen enjoys a fulfilling personal life as a wife and mother of three. Her exceptional ability to navigate complex challenges and forge meaningful connections has made her a pivotal figure in empowering individuals and organizations to flourish. Her leadership style, deeply rooted in empathy and effectiveness, not only shapes organizational cultures but also enriches them with love, joy, and spirit. Van Valen’s approach is transformative, fostering environments where both individuals and organizations can thrive and grow.
